Fastruck has been a series in the making since 1995. The series was originally called the "Classic Truck Series" founded by Bobby Diehl and Teddy Kempgins. Bobby and Teddy were the first dealers of the spec trucks in the entire country. In 1995, the "American Race Trucks" bought out the rights to the "Classic Truck Series" along with its dealers. Bobby and Teddy then started the "ARTS Touring Series" through a dealership network that spread nationwide. From Florida to Alaska and Texas to Pennsylvania, the "ARTS Touring Series" really took off with 22 dealers throughout the country, In 1998, a group of Argentina racing businessmen asked to use this concept to build 15 prototype trucks to be used to develop a road racing series in Argentina. Currently, they are still going strong in Argentina. In 1999, a change was made and the "Fastruck Series" evolved to replace the ARTS program, with Bobby Diehl as the founder of the "Fastruck Series". In 2000, GM Performance Parts came on board with the GM Crate Motor Program. This program developed quickly along side the Fastruck Series building a 2001 Chevy Silverado for Dale Earnhardt GM Goodwrench Circle Track Trade Show displays. This set Fastruck on the track for national exposure. In 2003, Fastruck was the support division for the Hooters Cup Series and in 2004, the ASA Pro Touring Series also signed on asking Fastruck to be their support division at Lakeland USA. 2004 was a fantastic year for Fastruck, bringing in 56 teams, having Fast Hour on the SunShine TV Network and NASCAR names ran through the lineups with names such as Matt Martin(son of Mark Martin), Justin and Jamie Skinner (sons of Mike Skinner), Josh Crenshaw (nephew of Joe Nemechek), Cory LaJoie (son of Randy LaJoie), Joey Lagano, Mark Davis, Aric Almirola with others that followed such as David Wilson and Blake Koch. To date, Fastruck has had numerous teams go through its series on their way to the Major Leagues of motorsports. Currently, Fastruck remains steadfast during a slowed economy with its home track of Charlotte County Motorsports Park. Fastruck is still under ownership of Bobby Diehl and with his commitment to the truck series and the racing community, Fastruck will remain a leader in circle track racing.
